In honor of America’s 250th Anniversary I had no choice but to add an American Eagle to my portfolio. The American Eagle was adopted as the U.S. national emblem on June 20, 1782, because it represents freedom, strength, and independence symbolizing the spirit of America!
Why, you ask a drawing of an American Eagle wearing a top hat? Why not? During the Victorian era the top hat was associated with Victorian stuffiness and formality. Today, in pop culture the top hat is seen as more comical. My animal art is determined by whim rather than reason. As an artist, what fun to create the unexpected.
The original drawing was hand-drawn using permanent micron marker and colored in using a blending technique with prismacolor colored pencils.
Each print includes a high quality black mat to accentuate the art and a protective cello sleeve. If you decide not to add a frame it can be propped up on a shelf without being framed.
The copyright watermark does not appear on the print you purchase.
